The federal supremacy is the fundamental element of the governance

Governance is mainly of two types.

Unitary and federal.

India is a Union of States under 1 (I).
Otherwise, the system of government is 'federal'. The principle of federal supremacy has been adopted in India and in the governance of India, the supremacy of the union is proved by the following facts-

1 Authority of the Parliament on the subject of the list despite separation of powers.

2 In the concurrent list, the center is placed above and the residual powers are also contained in the center.

3 Indian Union - "The imperishable union of imperishable states".
The system of single constitution, single citizenship, unified judiciary also nurture federal supremacy.

4 All India Services and the appointment of governors also hand over the emergency provisions in favor of the Union to the entire power union.

Thus, in India, the Union enjoys supremacy over the states, as Jennings also said that it is a strong union system.
